Legacy of Liberty

What We Teach

The story of a people, an impossible dream, and a grand experiment.

A Story Worth Telling

America declared her independence from England on July 2, 1776.

Calvin Coolidge, the 30th president of the United States, said, “It was not because it was proposed to establish a new nation, but because it was proposed to establish a new nation on new principles, that July 4, 1776, has come to be regarded as one of the greatest days in history.”

In the Declaration of Independence, the Founders presented a new vision of man and his role in society. America was, at the time, the only nation holding such a view. We refer to it as American Liberty, the founding principle on which this country was established.

Liberty's Story is Our Story

Man has always yearned for freedom, but seldom succeeded in breaking free of oppression and tyranny.

One of the most exciting chapters of that story took place right here in America, where Liberty at last found a home from which she could radiate to the entire world. This is our story.
